Year of Diagnosis or Onset: Diagnosed with RA 05/1985, but not notified by physician (found out later in paperwork). Hospitalized 08/1988, misdiagnosed with and treated for Lupus for 10 years. Rediagnosed in 12/1998 with Stills Disease on 2nd visit with new Rheumatologist.
Other diseases/health problems: Systemic Vasculitis x 18 years, Asthma, Epilepsy, 3 strokes on 06/21/1996, 7 herniated discs at: C4-7 & L4 - S1, glaucoma, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, sumptoms, migraines, hypertension, depression.
Surgeries as a result of Still's: sugery for glaucoma, both eyes, with lens implants.
Current Medications: Enbrel, Celebrex, Neurontin, Keppra, aspirin, Atace, hydrochlorothiazide, Singulair, Advair inh, Proventil inh, Cymbalta, Cytotec, Clonazepam, Xalatan eye drops, Atrovent in nebulizer as needed, Fioricet as needed, MS Contin SR & IR.
Occupation: disabled Registered Nurse
Family: I live with my husband, David. We have four grown children, Sevrin, Lanaya, Kelly, and Ginger. We have 7 granchildren, Skylar, Mia, Miles, Sierra, Gabriel, Madelyn, and Diego - starting at age 6 and ending at 1 month.
Hobbies or Favorite Activities: While still able to
work, I loved working, assisting charities, attending and participating
in the children's school activities, working out 5 x week, reading, snow
and water skiing, parasailing, vacationing, and cooking for large groups
at home. Now I have many physical limitations, and had to scale down.
I enjoy the Internet, spending time with family, meditation to quiet the
mind, feel more rested, and at peace, movies, going to dinner with
family or friends. And, I'm a vegetarian, which isn't a hobby, but a
lifestyle.
