Passages
When a person passes from this life, into another~
there becomes a tear in time~
No longer does the person’s spirit hold light and dark at bay~
Suddenly, the light and shadow become one, and~
the spirit is no more~
For us, left on this plane, we sense the empty ~
space, and know of the spirit’s passing~
Each time their countenance enters our minds,~
each moment we spend recalling a smile, a voice, their walk~
For those precious moments, the void fills with their spirits~
and they walk the earth once more, in our minds~
Our hearts, and always our souls~
We who mark their passing are spared no pain~
the emptiness is all around us, we wait for a step, a voice ,a sliver of laughter
And when it does not come, we ache a little more~
There are no words to make the pain abate, only~
day turning to night and day again~
When the edges of the pain grow dull with time~
I ask that all of you remember your loved one today,~
and some of your tomorrows~
And allow those spirits to walk among us~
even for a little while~

Dan’s obituary
Dan’s loving family
I would like to add a bit of explanation about the first picture with Dan wearing the special colander hat. We used to say the aliens stole our email when it disappeared into cyber space, so Dan always had a foil hat to wear to ward them off. I made him a special alien hat so he would be protected. Danny had the best sense of humor and helped many with their illness on a daily basis just by visiting and sharing his wonderful personality.

Augus 15, 1975 – July 19, 2011
God saw you were getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you, and whispered come with me. With tearful eyes we watched you suffer and saw you fade away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, working hands were put to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle Autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there; I did not die.
