Hello everyone,
I have been with my boyfriend for a little over three years now. The first couple year of our relationship he would wake up and give himself his needle so that he could function for the day. He was diagnosed with Still's Disease in his early 20's. There was a period of time where he tried to go onto a medication where he only had to take a needle once a week rather than everyday but the medication just would not work, so back to daily shots.
One day he told me he was going to fight this disease and overcome it withthe power of positive thought and rid himself of all this medicine he has to take. He did all kinds of research trying to find natural remedies and eventually came across a type of diet where you only eat raw food and by raw food I do not mean raw meat, eggs and fish but simply uncooked fruit and vegetables. He read about people with cancer and diabetes getting bettersimply by changing to a raw food diet.
This is where our raw journey began. We rid our cupboards of all processed foods and anything needing to be cooked. We then stocked our fridge full of fresh vegetables and our table with fruit. We purchased a high speed blender called a vitamix and also a food dehydrator called the excalibur. Our diet then started with"green smoothied" (smoothies made with greens such as spinach or kale and also frozen fruit to mask the "green" flavour) and lots of salads.
I have to say the addiction to food is the hardest addiction I have ever had to overcome but the results are amazing. The time period between needles (remember he had to have one everyday to keep his pain away) got longer and longer within two and a half months he stopped taking them all together. The last needle was taken on January 2 2011. It has now been anentire year since he has taken medication.
This was acheived simply by changing his diet. During holidays such as thanksgiving or christmas we will sway from our diet and eat the festive food with everyone but the next day he can sure feel it. His body will start to hurt he will get night swets and his rash will reappear on his chest.
I really wanted to share this story with other people with the same diagnosis as I hope they will read this and be inspired to try the same method. I am so proud of my boyfriend as he had set the goal of curing himself and he did justhat with the help of healthy food.
I hope this message will reach and help some of you.
